Southern Fryed is making
COuntry Music COol Again

 

Southern Fryed is known as one of the Rocky Mountain region’s hottest country acts! They bring a high-energy performance with their unique flavor of Rocky Mountain Country, deeply rooted in Texas Red Dirt and Southern Rock. Southern Fryed has been performing together for sixteen years, and have exploded onto the regional scene, becoming a must-see act throughout the Region. They deliver an interactive and powerful performance with their amazing songwriting and heart-melting harmonies! Their music variety of original music along with the best of Texas Country speaks to everyone, packing venues with every show!

Southern Fryed performs at some of the biggest venues and festivals across the region. When the big acts come to the region, Southern Fryed is the go-to opening act, and have supported the likes of Gary Allan, Tracy Byrd, Cody Johnson, Casey Donahew, William Clark Green, Granger Smith, Jerrod Neimann, Parmalee, Ned Ledoux and Randall King just to name a few. When it comes to their shows, these guys know how to keep the energy high and the crowd captivated! Southern Fryed performs regularly at County Fairs, festivals, and the biggest venues across eight states throughout the region.

Southern Fryed released their debut album “bluecollartown” in 2016, receiving tremendous reviews from fans. “bluecollartown” was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards, along with nominations for Songwriter of the Year for Russ Brown in 2016 and 2017. Their sophomore album, “Dive Bar,” received an Album of the Year nod at the 2018 RMCMAs.  In addition, Southern Fryed was nominated for Modern Country Group, Songwriter and Entertainer of the Year at the 2019 and 2020 Josie Awards. Southern Fryed received the Wyoming Tribune Eagle “Best of the Best” Award for Top Artist/Band for 2023. In March of 2022 they released their third album “Highway Addiction”.

 

Russ Brown

Front man Russ Brown, a North Platte NE native, retired from the US Air Force after 22 years of service. Early on, he competed in several talent competitions to include the Colgate Country Showdown, America’s Rising Stars and the Galaxy of Stars. In 2005, he was signed by Music City Network out of Nashville as part of a promotional deal. After the company folded that year, Russ continued to write songs and follow his passion. He has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year at the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards in 2016 & 2017 and at The Josie Awards in 2019. In 2008, he formed the band known today as Southern Fryed.

Andy Woods

Bass player Andy Woods, originally from Wheatland WY, now makes his home in Cheyenne. In his early years, he played drums in a rock band while in high school, traveling Wyoming and Nebraska. Following high school, Andy played in a variety of bands in Cheyenne until becoming a permanent member of Southern Fryed. Originally brought on as the drummer, the band needed a bass player, so Andy stepped up and has become a five-string fury.

Colin Gaddie

Lead Guitarist Colin Gaddie has been performing in the music industry for nearly 2 decades. He earned a degree in music and the performing arts. He’s toured with countless bands throughout his career. In 2021 Colin became the permanent lead guitarist for Southern Fryed entertaining fans with his dynamic leads and killer riffs.

Tim Howard

Drummer Tim Howard joined the band in January 2018. At the age of 14, Tim received his first drum kit and started learning from his father, who played in his early years. A couple years down the road, he played in rock cover bands and tribute bands. After receiving his Bachelors degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University, he moved to Texas. Moving to Texas brought a new light to country music for Tim as he picked up on artists thriving in the red dirt country genre. Tim's move to Cheyenne, WY was driven by his passion for hunting and his career. However, Tim soon found himself right at home in the western frontier, and behind the drums driving the rhythm section for Southern Fryed.

Bobby Torguson

Utility player Bobby Torguson was born in Saint Paul Minnesota was raised in a military family living in various locations throughout the country. He is a self taught bassist, guitar, banjo and mandolin player. Over the last 35 years Bobby performed in various Cheyenne bands to include Avenue, Liquid Rust, Primary, Heaven and Earth, Lugnut and the Spare Tires and Brand 307. After a year touring with Southern Fryed as their sound engineer, the group put his performance skills to work as their utility player and back-up vocalist. Bobby loves all types of music! He’s an avid motorcyclist, auto enthusiast and happy husband and father.

Tony Ouradnik

Keyboard player Tony Ouradnik was born in Edina, Minnesota and grew up in Bismark, North Dakota. Since the age of 3 Tony found his interest in piano with the help of his musical skills that include perfect pitch and memorization. At the age of 17, Tony got his first music gig as a church organist at St. George’s Episcopal Church of Bismark. He studied music performance at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN polishing his musical skills on piano, organ and tuba. After graduation, he has been employed as an organist at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, CO. His ability to rock the keys and his amazing harmonies earned him his place with Southern Fryed.
